We came here on a rainy day after a long day of househunting. We were a little nervous as this was her first time and didn't know what to expect. The young lady working the front was so helpful and polite. The food was so tasty! A lot of fun videos on the TVs overhead as well as music. We had a great lunch and will return. PS I think this place is now called kung fu Malatang.

I love coming here and think of this as the "lazy person's hot pot." You choose what you want to eat from a buffet area, and they cook it for you as a soup dish or as a dry dish (basically stir fry). The cost is determined by weight, so it's not AYCE. You can also order cooked small plates a la carte. Since I can't handle spice and love hotpot, I always choose the soup option. Since you choose what goes into your dish, your experience will partially depend on whether the specific items you get are consistent with your preferences. For example, I like the konjac noodles as well as the corn noodle, but I am not as interested in the tofu sheet or roll. Additionally, the sweet potato roll tastes more like a Chinese dessert, and although it tasted decent, I didn't like having something sweet in my savory dish. In terms of quality, the broth is very flavorful (but still light). The ingredients are good, though not the best I've had. You can add lamb, which I always do, but it's just okay. I think the buffet items are better, but that might be because you can have really high quality lamb, but you can't really have high quality fish balls. They always provide a peanut sauce, which was good, though the dish tasted great without it. All in all, I love coming here and am glad they use so much reusable foodware (see Eco Notes below). ECO NOTES (Dine-In) Dine-In Dishware: Reusable plates and bowls Napkins: Single-use disposable paper napkin Utensils: Reusable plastic chopsticks Water cups: Reusable metal cups

WOW I AM OBSESSED with this place. I loved the topping stations and they have such a big variety of noodles and toppings. It was also very clean and the staff was really nice. I got the soup base .25 spicy level (which was like a good mild) with beef. The broth was so flavorful and the toppings were all cooked to perfection. My meal was about $38 with taxes lol. Had so much left over that I had to take a bowl to go! It's so easy to keep adding your toppings. The Tanghulu was amazing, I can't stop thinking about it. I'll definitely be a regular here!

Only place in NorCal to get Korean tanghulu, The staff here are really friendly, had a conversation about improving the tanghulu. The Korean food they serve looks fresh and the open buffet style is unique. Tanghulu candy had a crunch to it and the fruit is freshly picked. Candy they used to over it was not too thin, more on the thicker coat, like double coat. Maybe some music, but wasn't distracting. I recommend it for the food and tanghulu!

I am very pleasantly surprised with Pixiu. I love soup and I am amazed that it took me so long to discover this place. Everything is by weight, the skewers are extra, the meat is extra (and you tell them at the front what you want), and depending on if you want a different type of noodle it might be extra (again located at the counter). There is plenty of things that you can put in your soup and I liked the variety as well as the uniqueness of ingredients. Not very often you find squid and white fungus for example. There is a variety of spice levels, I got the 0.5, some of my friends got the 2 and the 4. I wouldn't say the 4 was amazingly spicy, definitely had a quick that built a bit but my personal preference was my 0.5. It was more creamy than anything. Overall, I did enjoy Pixiu and being able to customize my bowl. The price can quickly add up so just keep in mind that things are by weight and some ingredients are extra. If you have a large group tip is already included, just so you are aware.

Solid service, spicy soup. Lots of veggie options. I am a bit of a picky eater. I don't like all the veggies. So for me there wasn't alot of add ons I was gonna be throwing in. The things I did throw in were good. Price wise I'd say it's kinda high for what it is. 60 for 2 people with tip. I didn't feel like I really loaded down or anything. From the soup or stir fry, (we had both) I would say soup wins by a good margin. The broth is just really good. I got it spice level 4. And it had heat and flavor. Wasn't unbearable or overly hot in my opinion. Would go back, but probably only with friends. Specifically friends that like all kinds of vegetables.

Went here on a cloudy, colder day and this definitely hit the spot. The soup is super flavorful and the vegetables were not overcooked with everything else. Some of the skewers at the end of the ingredient bar are extra and not included in the weight price. I think next time, I won't get the bacon as it doesn't come crispy. One of the most important things to keep in mind is don't let your eyes eat or else your bowl will be super hefty. The amount of meat included is a good portion relative to all the other ingredients. I got the mild (0.5) but I definitely could've gone up to a spicier level. Staff is super nice and will bring you your bowls along with some pickled radish which goes great with the hot soup. They also bring some aprons so you don't need to worry about splattering your clothes. There's lots of seating inside and when I went on a weekday, there was plenty of parking in the private parking lot in the back. Overall, great place to get some customizable bowls of amazingness. It fills you up and you may even have some leftovers. Check them out!
